Default Engine Temp. Questions

What does your F4i usually run at?
Does your F4i overheat easily in traffic?
At what temperature does your fans kick in?

My bike runs around 175-180f when running a steady speed of 45-55mph, but as soon as I stop at a red light, or have to set in traffic for 15-20sec's my bikes heats up to over 200, and at some instances in slower traffic, my bike heats all the way up to 225f which I know is past boiling temperature, and my fans dont kick on until 223f, I've never seen my bike over 225f no matter how long I set in traffic, I'm just wondering if this is normal, or if I need to do something...

Give me some feedback,

Thanks,
RJ

My bike has the water temperatures in Celsius degrees, on heavy traffic or when i'm waitting at the red light has 227 f (108 celsius, when the outside temperature is 95 f). Usualy the fan kicks in at 221 f (105 celsius). The boiling temperature of water is 212 f, but this boiling point is at atmospheric presure. Inside your engine the water runs under presure and for this reason it's boiling point is not 212 f and is much higher.

Mine seems to be pretty close to where yours is at, which is actually quite normal. I think my fan kicks on at 222, and I have not seen above 227. We have worked on several 01's-04's and they have all ranged about the same, didn't seem to make a difference using wetter or radiator fluid.
