Default Changing Brake Pads

ok i dida search on brake pads and founda few posts, but none of them said anything about how to change them.
my front brakes do a little "lunging" when i brake, like slightly harder on one area so it bounces when i brake... i made a post about this before.
i went to the local bike shop here and they said it could just be the pads and that they would change them for $35
i would like to do it myself b/c i like workin on my own stuff, and brake pads seem pretty simple so i was just wondering how hard it is to do them. is it just as simple as loosening the old ones, slipping them out, and putting new ones in?

yup, that easy, and torque everthing back to where it should be.

the only possible hang up is if your pads are severly worn down, you will need to open the mastercylinder so that you can push the pistons back inside the
calipers a little so they will fit back over the disk.

Its really easy to do, you have to have a C clamp to compress the pistons and then once on the bike you press the brake lever or press with your foot to "set the pad".

ya it's just as simple as changing the pads on your car if you have ever done that. but not worries it's just a matter of how to take them off it goes back together the same way. lol

actually its easier lol. I can change my fronts w/o removing the calipers. Takes roughly 20 - 30 minutes, maybe longer if you have never done anything like it b4.

I had never done anything like changing brake pads before and it was very simple. The hardest part was braking (horrible pun) them in, since I wasn't sure what exactly you weren't supposed to do.

Does anyone ever resurface their bike rotors?

+1 on the manual
That's what I used the first time I changed mine. That, and just light searching on the internet, cause at a certain point, changing disc brake pads is all the same idea

Clean & lube your pistons while you're at it. There's a write-up somewhere for that too.
