Chain broke, need help
Well. After a 250+ mile charity run my chain breaks on the way home. Master link rivet failed. Well it totally snapped off the area aroun the front sprocket. Nothing is leaking is it ok to ride? If not how do I replace it?
I will add pics as soon as I figure out how
Any emails or texts helping would be awesome

Damn, well if there is no visible damage then you really won't know until you can get a new chain. As far as putting the chain on its pretty straight forward. Lay the chain over the top of the two sprocketswith the longer end on the front sprocket. Bring the front of the chain back underneath the rear sprocket and connect the two ends together with the new master link. I'm on my phone but when I get to a computer I'll put up photos.
Here is a link for adjusting the tension of your chain.

How are you gonna ride it with no chain? You should replace the chain and sprockets together as a set. Pull the front sprocket and see what it looks like, it looks fine from the pics, but I'd pull the sprocket and clean it up to make sure it was all good. If you have a friend with a truck and ramp just take it to your house and fix it there if possible.
i put a new chain and sprockets on it. rides great. only reason i posted on here was to figure you how safe it is to ride without the chain guard around the front sprocket since it was broken off. btw the chain broke after having less than 300 miles on it and broke at 100mph
Yea definitely pull the sprocket off and clean it up, and it looks like part of the engine that covers sprocket is missing (I don't mean the plastic part), so I don't know; someone who knows more about motorcycles can give a better assessment. Most shops will look at something like that for free if they arn't too busy.
Edit: There might be some rubbing from the chain as well.
