Default buying a salvage 2001 f4i

hello everybody, im thinking about buying a used 2004 honda cbr f4i for my boyfriend, according to the discription it is a "moto GP west replica, salvaged title but strong motor, 19,000 miles, bike was inspected before buying it, nothing its bend." the asking price is 4k, the bike in the picture looks fine, im gonna check it out on tues and would like to know some things to look for when i cheeck out. Plus is it good to buy salvaged? will the insurance go up?

thanks for your help, holly.

IMHO, do not buy this bike unless you plan on keeping it forever. Trying to resell a salvage bike will be a huge headache.

That bike is way overpriced to. I bought my 02 f4i for $4800 with 2 helmets a jacket and the bike had 5k miles and a undertail, carbon mirrors, m4slip on, k&n filter, and flush mount turn signals

Ya can't ride it on the street until you have it inspected and get a new title issued. Even then the DMV will haunt you with paperwork when you try to sell it. I would steer clear of this bike -- too much $$ and not enough info. If you just gotta go see it then take someone along who at least knows engines and preferably bikes in general. And finally, Holly who hates pigs, God bless you for wanting to buy your boyfriend a bike -- I never had a girlfriend like that[8D]

Don't Do it!!!!! You'll break up with your boyfriend in a few months anyway so why buy him a bike =P hehe seriously though, I would NEVER buy a salvage bike for over 2500 no matter how good it is let alone almost 20k miles,

that bike is worth 1400 bucks.
