Hey guys, could I have some experienced input, please?
I'm replacing the pads on both front disks. When I take out the old pads I find that three pads have this anti-rattle clip on the back, but the fourth one doesn't.
The new pads don't come with these clips, and I don't see them on Honda's exploded parts diagrams.
Is it safe to leave them out?
On the caliper with two clips, it's a firm fit to get the new pads in.
On the caliper with only one clip, it's still a firm fit to get the new pads in.
I'm wondering what they do - anti rattle, or is it a kind of adjusting shim?
I'd appreciate any advice.. Thanks in advance. The bike's a 2001 model CBR600 f4i.
Neither Clymer or the Honda service manual mention them, so maybe they come with some sets of pads. The new pads don't come with them, so maybe it's safe to leave them out.
