EBC Brake pads dont fit :(

EBC Brake pads dont fit :(
Trying to put in my new EBC rear brake pads... and they just dont fit! So I removed the old pads, and they each had small backing foils. Put those on the new ones, and tried to fit the pads in but they just won't fit! My reservoir cap is open so I assume the circular cylinder jutting out of the side is the piston and it's getting pushed back, but it's not budging...
Is there anything more to this? Or do I have to just wrestle with it?

RE: EBC Brake pads dont fit :(
could you give more detail on "dont fit"
the new pads should look just like the old pads(pad material and cut may be different) but the metal plate should be the same.
otherwise, like kneepuck said, your pistons are too far out. use a syringe or something and pull some fluid out of the resovior so it dont overflow and spill fluid all over your tank. then push the pistons(those circular things) back all the way into the caliper. It shouldnt take alot to push them back in, you should be able to do it with your fingers.(cars need a C clamp to push)
once you finally get the pads in, you should go ahead and flush your blake fluid too if you havent done it. I do mine atleast once a year.

RE: EBC Brake pads dont fit :(
k guys thanks for the help. I did have to push the pistons pretty hard, so I just put in one of the old pads and pushed it against the disc I was scared of bending the disc so I pulled on the disc too, and tried to put just enough pressure.
After pushing them almost all the way in the new pads went in.
