Suppose to be light grip on the handlebars anyway..
I removed mine, just wear some gel padded cycling gloves and get into the good habit to avoid "death grip" while riding.
I have no numb hands after few hundred miles in the saddle.
For track riding, heavy weights near the top of the bike (above tank) is a complete disadvantage to me.
Besides, track sessions usually don't last longer than an hour at a time, engine vibe less likely to tire your hands out in than amount of time.
