Default Oil Weight?

I'm thinking of getting Rotella oil but it only comes in 5w/40 & 15w/40. For driving in temperatures which range from 50F to 90F and only occasionally going to redline, which is best? It's for a 02 with 28K miles.

I usually run 10w30 or 15w40. I run thicker during the summer months. You should be good with 5w40

Plus 1 on the Amsoil 10w 40. I ran it last year and am running it again this year.

I switched to Amsoil after I found it at a local auto parts store for under $10/quart. I asked them how they sell it and was told a local Amsoil dealer worked out a deal with the district manager for the auto parts store to carry Amsoil in all the stores in that district.
