Default Oil weight to use?

I am changing the fluids in my F2 today. We use 5W-40 right?

I wish I could be a weatherman and always be wrong in Indiana and still have a job. Great job security!
In Indiana; if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. If you do like the weather, wait 5 minutes.
Changing fluids, then going for a ride.

I do need to find out what oil weight I should put in first.

I used 10W-40 synthetic. Not sure where I read this (probably Clymer's manual) but I used that because it was recommended.

Might use 5W if you're in a colder climate, but at least here in NY it seems that spring has sprung.

10w40 is manufacturer advised. 20w50 is advised for warmer temperatures but damn near everyone I know who is experienced with bikes.
