forks
Hi, my front forks are very soft, when I adjust the top screw there are no clicks... there should be ten right? Is this common/normal?
Also, the bike is 9yrs old now, it has not been ridden hard, I am only the second owner... is it possible the fork oil needs changing? I am 6' tall and 16lbs approximately, would I benefit from changing/updating the springs maybe?
Thanks in advance...

You are way overdue for a fork oil change. I'm shocked that your seals aren't leaking. Even when seals don't look like they leak, somehow the fluid will get low after a few years. Springs also will lose their springyness in time, not to mention that if you weigh more than 120 pounds, they are too light.
Get some new seals, oil, correct springs, and new valves if they are available. They're pretty easy to do and the end result is well worth it.

I put Race-Tech .90kg springs, gold valve and rebound gold valves in my F4i. It wasn't too bad to do honestly. If you need to know the trick to getting the cartridge just pull the cartridge out of the fork tube and reinstall the compression bolt and give it a decent smack with a rubber mallet. It will then expose a circlip that needs to be removed in order to get the cartridge apart to replace the valving. If you have any questions just let us know. Oh and you can also switch to a little heavier oil to help adjust for the heavier rider. Just another little tip.
