Suzuki R/R on Honda
I post ? in the sticky, but the sticky is long and I dont think anyone's gonna look for new questions. So here it goes. When putting the GSXR rr on the F2, what is the little black circle thing mounted on the stock f2 plate that the f2 rr is mounted to. Can it be removed, do you mount the GSXR rr flat, does it matter if it touches the frame. I know they recommend soldering the wires instead of plug in connecters but whats the harm with plug in. You dont here about stock GSXR rr burning up, or else we wouldn't be able to buy them cheap on ebay. And it plugs in the the bike also.

dont know about the black circle.
but i put a gixxer rr on my f3
just went to radio shack and got a power connector instead of soldering the wires together. if you go with the connector, just be sure to crimp AND solder the wire to each pin that goes into the connector.
when i first did mine i didnt solder the wire in the pin on the bike side. and it caused it to have a bad connection and melted one of the wires.

Well the little black thingy is a bolt that hold the plate to the frame. I got it all ready to go just in case I need it. One thing I figured out, if you look at the Suzuki plug, you can trim the plastic "wall" that surrounds the connecters, swap the two wires to make it match the honda plug. And, ABRACADABRA! it'll plug right in to the Honda plug. You need a jewelers little screw driver to release the wires from the Suzuki plug, then pry the lock catch thing back up and insert the wire back in the plug fitting in the proper place so it matches the wiring to the Honda. I plugged it in and the bike started right up. Drilled some hole to mount the Suzuki R/R. Now its ready to go at a moments notice. My bike has pretty low mileage, so I dont see the Honda R/R burning up any time soon. I only ride it at the track anyway so if it burns up, its going to burn up at the track.
