carb slide doors 1&2 are not opening. everything else is working great. bike has 3600 miles. runs fine but no ***** topping at 95mph.

 

Those "doors" are vacuum slides. They are not working properly. they open in response to increased throttle. They open slowly to allow the carb to catch up to your throttle input. The carbs have a rubber diaphragm under the round tops. Tears, misalignment, plugged lines are likely causes of your symptoms.

 

+1 Have they been worked on recently? It's very easy to not get them sealed when installing. Take your finger and raise the slides to the top. When you remove your finger they should immediately fall. If they don't...as mentioned above, they are either ripped, or someone installed them incorrectly. They are actually pretty tough so my money is on someone goofing on the install. Besides it's kinda rare to have 2 go out on you at same time.
