My fuel tank wont open

Default My fuel tank wont open

Hi,
i have an 2002 f4i. this morning i ran out of gas and when i tried to open FUEL Tank i am unable to open it. Is it due to vaccum ?? Can anyone help me how to open it..

try doing it quickly, but be carefull not to break the key off. it happened to me and i was lucky i had a spare key.

i have this prob from time to time and i just tap on the fuel door a twist on the key not to hard and tap and jigle at the same time .....idk it works for me

Yep, that usually does it. (and it's just how I open all bike fuel tanks)

Hopefully that helps, but if something is broken in the lock/cap.... who knows.

Thanks a lot for all your replies guys,

I solved the problem by opening the fuel tank totally by removing the screws and after opening it i found my fuel tank cap is rusty so i soaked it with wd40 for and it did the trick now its all smooth and easy to open the cap...
