Default only turns over manually

bypassing the starter with the two terminals on the relay wont work makes a binding-squeaky sound with the gears but will rotate with breakerbar (hear like a hydraulic noise when i do this almost squirting sound). This happenend after i torqued down the stator cover... wth?

the starter gear with the case doesn't rotate either
Also broke off part of the starter boss initially too.

Please help

You might want to take the cover off and check things. You may have screwed something up.

I did, used a rubber mallet but couldn't get all the holes to line up bent cover? Anyways the gear should still rotate shouldn't it what do i have to do to fix this?

update:

So I started hitting the starter gear with a flathead and rubber mallet to see if it would turn didn't spend a whole lot of time but after i did that I noticed i could get the gear to move laterally which was odd? Anyways a couples times i got it to turn but then it would jam right up again. Any thoughts or ideas as to what this may be?
