All it takes is the smallest of particles, or minor blockage to cause you headaches. If your one to clean ur carbs once a year and keep a clean air filter you wont usually have any issues with carburation. But if you are one to run er till she she gives you problems, i like to fully break the carbs down and soak them good. If you take your time reassembling your carbs and give them a CAREFULL bench sync, you would be suprized in the results. Try to use a dielectric grease at all the o-rings incuding the intake boots and float bowl gaskets (use sparingly). Ive truley never had to use the mercury sticks after a carfull bench sync either. i've hooked them up and checked them after doing this and was off on # 4 by not even an 1/8 turn Syncing, really only gets them close anyhow. if you want it perfect buy a fuel injected bike. youll likely not notice the inperfection. To me, thats what makes carbs a science, and fun!
