Fuel and vacuum problems! Please help!
The solenoid sounds more like a valve from the way you are describing it. The previous owner may be having some issues with fuel delivery and decided to use a switch-controlled valve to let fuel flow to the carbs. Since the vacuum from carb #1 is no longer needed, he plugged the hose with a bolt.
Im not to sure which nipples you are refferring to! The petcock fuel nipple is going to the main fuel line and the vacuum nipple was going to the atmosphere but is now going to carb #1 like it is supposed to!
Ok,I know the larger line is the fuel feed from the carb. The smaller nipple on the petcock connects to the nipple on the left side of the engine for vacumn for the shuttle valve to operate. There are two nipples on the bottom of the metal tank itself. I'm pretty sure these just vent to atmosphere.

Exactly what I needed to know, thanks.
Yeah I think my tank is not the factory one b/c it doesn't have any other nipples on the bottom. Also, does anyone know where I can get a locking gas cap? I've been searching, but haven't found one yet. Mine just has a push and twist cap.
