Is this noise only at idle? I have a simular noise on cold start up goes away when you raise the rpm's haven't noticed any running or performance issues.

As RPM's pick up, so does oil pressure slightly... It's likely your CCT.

i think i have the same problem but i just recently had it change by a mechanic 3000 miles ago which he recommended but never heard any noice. now 3000 miles later im hearing this rattling noise at low rpm or when i down shift. could it be my tensioner is bad at only 3000 miles???????

If it's a hydraulic tensioner yes, they are useless.

None, no need to remove anything from the engine aside from the CCT.

So I take it everyone is pretty pro APE... I just changed out the old for a replacement OEM and after about 200 mi it is back at it again. Are there any other brands than the APE that are better, worse, ect.?? The rattle makes me concerned about ridding it even though from what I have read it doesn't seem to be too big a deal other than an annoyance.
