This is no jb weld job for me, I already found a guy willing to sell me his with the gasket for $40. I guess I have to remove the remaining parts of the stator in order to get take the gear off to inspect it. I wonder what caused this piece to explod like that...

iam so glad u put this up the same thing happen to me the other day i just got a new battery today for it and just came in from trying it i was so frustrated then i found this and it sounds just like what is happeing to me. idk if i wana fix mine just bc its me lol do you know where i can buy a new stator cover from?

it happen like two days ago and I was going through the steps it could be so I put a new battery in today and still nothing so after school tomoro I prolly will pull my stator covor off and see if mines broke to. It sounded just like you explained.

yea like I said, if I would not torque the bolts holding the starter in place all the way, I could c the starter physically shifting... getting jammed

that gear that the pin goes in and the starter gear touches mine is shifted so i cant get my new stator cover on how can i move this gear back to place????

can you crank the motor backward by hand? It may release the pressure on the gears. Someone in the forum had this issue, but solved it by "jiggling", as I recall.
