no purple i believe you got your "idea" assbackwards.
You loss a tooth in the front to increase acceleration aka gearing it down.
You add teeth to the rear which also increase acceleration aka gearing it down
Like you say adding a tooth in the front is like loosing 3 teeth in the rear makes for more bog launches less acceleration then stock but more mph on the top of the gear.
For a 1000cc bike gearing isnt as critical as for the 600cc. I have seen a geared down 600 stay dead even with a 1000cc stock gearing out of the hole till about 60mph or so and run away like the 600 died.
So 1000cc doesnt need gearing change unless your a stunter or your adding a turbo

all im saying is if you want to keep the front down and launch hard add a tooth the the front. its a simple and cheap way to make the bike faster. or you can go spend more time and money and strap and lower the bike.
for the 600 staying with the 1000 yeah you can see that **** all day long at the track because booth bikes will just be getting done slipping there clutch at that speed. and i have videos of friends that have 600s with bikes that are stock gearing and the other that was geared down -1 +2 just to show how much slower it makes your bike by gearing it down all because your trying to keep the front end down.
