Default My 1/4 mile time 06 cbr 1000rr

Mods are chain/sprocket kit 3 up in the back, power commander dyno tuned, B&M air filter. Perelli corsa tires .Best 1/4 mile time 10.334 @140.38mph 60"1.848 My biggest problem was launches and keeping the front end down all gears threw 3rd . 3rd time at the track, my friends 08 GSXR 1000 ran a 10.280 @139mph with similar mods except only 1 tooth up in the back , but I think I can take him with better launches and throttle control along with slipping the clutch better on the launches . So is my times on par for this bike ? I really dont know what there capable of but im guessing with more practice im thinking between a 10.1 and a 10.2 ...what do you guys think ?

10.1 sounds right for any liter bike dude, probly b able 2 keep the wheel down easier if u only went 1 up in the rear or stock gearing. jus practice practice practice man.

I have a friend that had an 06 1000rr completely stock, he ran 10.35. Sounds about right. Get a strap for the front end and practice your launches. I have an 02 954 and ran a best of 10.25@140 so far.

i understand gearing down a 600 but not a 1000cc. You do that it becomes really hard to keep the wheel down. All i would add to mine is pc3 and bmc filter and thats it. But nice run.

gearing it up would make more sluggish acceleration. Gearing it down you have to shift like a maniac while keeping the wheel down.

Stock gearing is just fine just gotta learn to ride the clutch to launch.

well lets see here add a tooth to the front then you can launch the bike at a higher rpm then you will not be "sluggish" giving you will only drop about 3 lbs of tq. if you want me to get the calculator for you.

never add a tooth in the front..will kill acceleration BAD. even just driving around on the street. Dont do it... just learn to drive it the way it is
