Default tranny ussues???

Hey everybody, thanks on my last question about the proper engine oil level.... the tranny in my 2002 954rr seem to be very clunky , i have no slipping issues, it just seem to be loose. This is my first street bike, i have always ridden dirtbikes and still do very often ,the tranny in my crfx250 is nice and tight, no clunking,i kno i cant compare apples to oranges, i just dont want this thing locking up on me on the highway.. thanks again

You might have stripped worthington gears, also, did you check the play in the wobble shaft?

:P

I would make sure your chain is tight enough though.

Chain tension is a common problem with new riders. make sure it is adjusted right. It does make a huge difference.

The shifts have always been a wee bit rough on these bikes, or a tad clunky.

Yeah, mine's the same way. My old 600 was so tight and had really positive shifts. This 954 tranny kills me, I'm gettin some new shift linkage to try to help with the issue
