TooBroke rebuild 954 thread
So you used aircraft stripper and that finish was underneath. That does not look that bad. What brand of stripper did you use and your coater does not need the parts sand blasted or anything like that. I am still up in the air about what I am going to do and if I just want to wait a little longer before I even start on my bike. I kind of want it all done at one time and done right so I don't have to take it apart again. I was going to do the PC and engine rebuild over the winter and that would require me to completely strip the bike down again. I may just hold off on everything and do it all at once.
Yeah the stripper removes 95% of the paint but the problem is it can and will eat aluminum if not removed quickly enough. I stripped the paint so I could "rhinoline" it probably didn't have to but I try to do things the right way the first time. The PC will strip the springs and clean up the other parts though so I Dont have to worry about that. Pcitures of the frame after etch primer.
O and I just bought " aircraft stripper" from autozone you can't actually use it on aircraft because it'd eat rivets. Lol I think I bought the quart size the spray cans are sweet bout you go through it quick. If your going to use it apply it and let it sit five minutes and than rinse.

Little bit of an update frames been painted with the rhinos liner as well as painting the rotors and shck mount. Got more time tomorrow to prep the subframe and look at cutting the exhaust down.
It looks awesome the factory paint seemed to have more gray in it. Not sure but here's some close up I think the texture is perfect it reminds me of like 120 grit sandpaper versus like 32. Check it out
