Default Slip-on Installation Question

Success! My bike is back. Rode it tonight and it feels better than ever!!!!!

Now, while it was in the shop I made a Yana Shiki shorty, but I am having trouble getting it on the midpipe. I cannot get the pipe to slip over the fitting into the midpipe. The fitting is too big. I have included pics hoping I could get some pointers. Thanks

The end of the shorty will not fit over this fitting into the midpipe ...

I am pretty sure for the Yana Shiki exhausts you have to cut that part where the baffle would be almost off, leave like a 3/8 of an inch or so, just enough to butt up against the pipe, then bolt it up. It may be even shorter than that, but i would start even a bit londer and keep cutting it down till its right. Sorry i dont recall exactly, but i do know you have to cut that down to almost to the flange where it bolts up. Check there site, maybe some instructions there.
