I just got an 02 954 and it will only start(crank over) in nuetral. Every other bike I have ridden will start no matter what gear its in as long a s the clutch is in. Is this normal or is something up with my clutch switch? Thanks

Funny, mine cranks in gear as long as the kickstand is up.

safety switch on the kickstand and clutch lever, check them out.

 

lol ... I have done the same thing. Put the kickstand up.

 

Clean the connection at the clutch lever. it sould start with the clutch in and stand up in any gear if not a new switch is in your future.

 

I know the kickstand switch is fine, the bike will shut off if its in gear and I try to put the kickstand down. I also disconnected the clutch switch and tried starting it with the wires connected and the wires not connected. Is the some where I can find a wiring diagram for the whole bike? Thanks
