rubbing sound up front
Seems as if lately, cruising at around 20mph, i can hear my brakes rubbing against the rotors. At least i think thats what it is. Its not a constant rub though, as if something is not straight. I cant remember when i first started to hear it, but it was sometime after I got my rims chromed. I asked my mechanic and he said not to worry about it, as the pads are touching the rotors anyway. I was wondering is there anything i can do toback the pads off a bit without hurting anything, or what the problem could be, and how serious it is?
hey buys this may be out there but mine was rubbing and i thought it was the brakes too.....butmy mechanictold me it was the chain....so check your chain...when i replaced the chain it stopped...
but is the chain correct, just because it's new doens't mean anything.. if it's too tight or too lose you can hear the chain... but if it's up front that's different.. but disc brakes always have a little constent friction
im sure the sound is coming from up front. as i squeeze the front brakes, I canhear it go away. It was doing this before I got the new chain. Now that Bobjoe says there is constant friction on the front brake, I feel better about it. Thanks bro
yep, it's prob just brake pads on rotors if it goes away with braking pressure... take off the wheel and check the rotors and caliper and pads etc if still curious, better to be safe then sorry
i had that for about 50-100 miles or so after i put my new tires on, i am pretty sure i didnt put the rotors on the same side they came off of. So with that in mind there are very small grooves etc in the pads and rotors and with the change of sides they are not gonna match up basically so until they wear a bit you may hear a bit more noise from your pads. Nothing to worry about.
