Neutral Select Issue

New member looking for advice
First post here goes.
Would just like to say hello to everyone.
I have had my 2002 Fireblade RR-2 for about 8 months now with no issues.
What i have noticed is that when going to neutral when the bike is at really high temps ie sitting for long time in traffic is sometimes misses neutral and goes to first on the way down. Its ok on the way up and is never a bother at normal temps any ideas? Its more of an anoyance than anything else.
Other than this the bike is great and faultless as you would expect from a Honda
The bikes only done 8700 miles and has a full dealer history.
Thanks
Mark

First thing that comes to mind is that someone has this bike modified for the track.
You may be experiencing is a modification that keeps the rider from missing a shift and accidentially hitting neutral.
You should be able to hit neutral but it's gonna be a touchy bugger.
But since you said this problem has recently developed I'm hesitant to say this is the issue for sure. Plus, on-line diagnostics can be hit and miss.
Once you are in neutral will the bike slam into gear or is it smooth? Shifting alright between other gears?

Mine has had the same issue for a long time and I'd like to see some replies as well. Adjusting the clutch helped mine some but it still does it many times in certain situations (esp. when stopped). Odd thing is when I turn the bike off it will go into neutral without a problem. Mine is not modified and has had recent oil change with quality oil.
