Default Help with mid-pipe fitting

I wrecked my bike a while ago and just got around to fixing it due to my hellish work schedule. I snapped the mid-pipe in half so i ordered a new one, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 . It says this mid-pipe is off a 2002 954, but when i went to fit it it did not work at all. I have a CA bike so i think this may be my problem. There is no hole for the exhaust sensor and there is a perferated cone that protrudes out the end of the mid-pipe, my old mid-pipe did not have this. So did this guy screw my over and sell me the wrong part, or does it not fit my bike because it has to pass gay CA exhaust rules. Can i modify it to fit my bike?

Default RE: Help with mid-pipe fitting

I believe that the cone was on all non Cali bikes. When you install an aftermarket Exhaust Can you generally have to remove this cone, so I would just cut it off. As far as the O2 sensor goes if the new mid pipe doesn't have a bung it maybe a problem because you live in California. A couple of options are take the pipe and have an O2 bung welded on or you can get an O2 simulator and go without it, but because you live in California this may not pass inspection. Hope this helps.
