Ok so filled up the tank the other day hand tightened now time for another refueling and i can't get the cap off. Any one ever had this problem? What could be causing it and how do i get the cap off now?

aftermarket gas cap?


it happens to me every once in a while on my repsol, you just have to get it done. grip and rip.

what i've noticed is.... that when i tighten it at the pump, i can only get it so tight. and when i ride away (i don't know if it's the vibrations or what), but i can get it much tighter.


so i what i would do is start to loosen it while still riding before you get to the pump

 

good idea. Im gonna have to try that one.

 

Wow i did not even know there were such things, why would anybody replace the standard Honda fuel cap for something else ?

 

Honestly it looks nice. But we now see the price of vanity. I had multiple people try to turn my cap off just so that i felt better about not being able to get it open then i went ahead and covered it with a thick cloth then lodged a flat head screw driver in it and gave it a few love taps and then it got to turning.
