hello guys new here! I bought a totalled 929 this weekend that cartwheeled end over end. The rider thankfully was not seriously injured. Anyway I need a new frame because the one I have iscracked at the neck.

My question is will a 929 motor fit the 954 frame? I did a search and didnt find answer? if It does other than the 954 swingarm what else is required to make it work? I will be using the front end from the 929 amazingly they are still straight.

929 and the 954 are the same block.

 

Think I may just be patient and hold out for a 929 frame. Prolly save $$ in the long run

 

I think I would just buy a nice low mileage 954. That project sounds like a headache.

 

Hold out for the 929 frame, if you put the 29 motor into the 54 you will probably run into mounting issues and maybe harness issues. TK can back me and provide more info, but I suggest looking for a 29 frame and going from there. It sounds like a project so I wouldnt rush.

 

Why would you need a 954 swingarm? Doesn't the swingarm bolt to the engine? Serious question. I'm in the same boat.

 

I have about $800 so farinto this one and I am looking forward to the project if i turn it into a track bike i can prolly sell off the functional street parts and few plasticsthat the guy bought and keep my total out of pocket to $1800.I have a07 r1 for the street, but nowa track bike......that is what every guy needs!

 

The 954 swingarm will work on the 929, the only difference is the way the right side of the swingarm looks
