Wow big fella. Slingin' mud without knowing me. It wasn't my first chain replacement job, butI may have screwed it up. I've decided to give the 520 another chance. Any suggestions on the sprocket tooth combination? Any idea whymy previous combination screwed my speedometer up (is that normal)? Thanks for the help (and humbling comment!).

If you want a wheelie monster then go down in front and up in the rear, right? What you do depends on what you want. I went down 1 on the front and really liked it. Much quicker acceleration and wheelies are real easy. Here are the down sides I have found. The smaller front sproket (15t) in combo with a stock 43t rear has caused my chain to actually rub through the chain slider on the swingarm. AND it is starting to cause damage to the swingarm itself, around the pivot point. Although it isn't bad, yet. So i have decided to go back to the 16t front in order to keep the chain off the swingarm, and went up three on the rear. As for which chain size, I personally go for longevity, so 530 for me. Although if you are willing to spend a lot for a high quality chain, the tensile strenghts on some 520 chains are more than suitable for a stock 954. Also on my 600's I went too high on the gearing, and long freeway rides sucked cause of the constant higher RPM's. So hopefully my experiences, along with othe others here, have helped out!
