Ive got an 03 954rr stock with yoshimura R&D slip on with baffle when i bought the bike. It was too quiet so i removed the baffle. Everything seemed fine until i decided to cut 6" from the pipe(mainly for looks since the stock yosh looked too long). It got much louder and ran much hotter(225F) so i modified the original baffle and put it back in from the top so that it is removable without drilling out the rivets. Now it is has a good rumble and runs cooler too at around 180-190F on the same trips and ambient temperatures. Does the free flowing exhaust cause that much of a lean condition that it makes the bike run really hot?
