Default 954 to sport touring

Hello! New guy here. First post. My 954 has served me faithfully for 10 years. I would like to convert it to sport touring duties. I would like to raise the handle bars 2-3 " which would necessitate new control cables. Might even like a little higher windshield.
Has anyone done this or know where i might source the above mentioned items? Thanks for any info!

Nice idea, would be interested my self but maybe not that far up, i have heard that Helibars are just about right but being in the bloody UK we can not get them without either selling one of our children or one of our more important body parts !!!!

Try these, if I had to do it, this would be high on my list.

you'll definitely need new brake lines. you'll have to adjust the cables and what not to make them work - but i was able to make them work. clutch cable shouldn't be too big of an issue. all the wiring from the controls will easily work too - just use some zip-ties to keep them tucked to the bars

that top yoke is nice, but you could use your stock yoke and use a set of these and buy your own 7/8 bar

not sure how dirty bars work with the fairings though....

I'd say they are since I have never seen them anywhere else.

I'm looking to do a similar conversion to my F3. I'm going to add the Throttlemeister bar-end,
cruise control to mine, as well. I've been doing the research and looking for the bargains for the last 6 months.

The best (and least expensive) solution I've found is the APEX 3" riser clip-ons.
They are a hollow bar and adjust forward/back and up/down. They run $220 for any diameter fork tube.
You can find them here...

Apex Clip-on Sets - Apex Manufacturing

Another (less expensive) solution is the DanMoto 3d clip-ons. Pretty much the same design and
range of motion. BUT it uses a solid bar, made of soft aluminum. This is more a track-style set,
engineered to bend in a crash and prevent a tumble. If you are wanting bar-end weights or the
afore-mentioned cruise control, you'll have to trim and drill them. You can find them here...

Adjustable Billet Clip On's : Danmoto

With the range of motion either of these offer, I would mount them first and see if your cables
will work without replacement and still hit the sweet spot.
If not, THEN consider longer control cables and/or hoses.

In case you're interested, here's a link to the Throttlemeisters. There are a lot cheaper options,
but these are pretty and give that stock look that I favor.

Throttlemeister - Home

Hope this helps, Ern

those adjustable clipons are probably the way to go. but you'll still need brake lines if you want to be able to adjust them. just call galfer and say i need 954/929 lines +4 inches or whatever you decide and you're done
