the engine will be just as reliable, if not more reliable (depending on the components you use). you won't need to ride it as hard either when you're just on the street. the real thing to keep the temp down and not over heat in traffic or what not is just to not go crazy with the compression.

i'm not going to get an oversized radiator, i'm going to take wrap my exhaust, stick with my radiator fan switch, use engine ice, and i'm pretty sure it will be able to handle the engine. if that doesn't work, i may go with an oversized radiator, but i really don't think it'll be necessary.

price...hmm... idk, its probably going to go around $4k-5k for everything engine wise. its def. cheaper and easier to get a new bike (blah blah blah), but i love my 954 and i live for doing this stuff.

i haven't quite figured out how i'm going to get more fuel.... im sure i'll be using 1krr throttle bodies(2 injectors per cylinder) unless i can figure out how to use bigger injectors on the 954 ones, i'm just no sure if i'm going to use the entire wiring harness, or figure a way to splice it in. and then ill have to mod the airboxs.

cams are anywhere from $500-1000 for a good set., just depends on what you want to do.

thanks for the help. I posted my Jeep up for sale 2 days ago, I think it may have sold today. If I get the payment tomorrow then I'm going down to buy that 954RR I've been looking at. Unless I find a nice Ducati for sale along the way. I'm a sucker for Duc's, haha

...until you take one on a longer ride... they're so uncomfortable (you're talking about the 996,998,748's right?) the monsters are a dif. story though. ducatis are pretty awesome bikes to own, they just suck to work on, parts are expensive!

i had a 998 ben bostrom edition. ecu went bad. cost $3,000 to get reflashed at the ducati dealer. I sold it in canada and got the money back though. I'm not sure if I can buy another one though.

I got a down payment for my Jeep and went and put that down payment on the 954. Its such a sweet bike. Ran into a problem though. the guy putting it on a trailer to take it to the warehouse overtightened the front forks and blew out the seals. is this a common problem?? they went ahead and replaced the forks for me at no charge but still.
