I just threw in the engine ice yesterday and I have definetly noticed a difference. Of course this is the hottest weekend of the year in milwaukee, so I still think she runs a bit hot, but the temperature does not shoot up nearly as fast IMO. My buddy was gonna try out the water wetter. If he ever throws it in, I'll let you know what he thinks about it.

175-180 degrees while riding and 215-220 while stopped is normal without any engine ice or additives. I'm still amazed at how much heat the frame absorbs and radiates from the engine! It's nice when the temperature drops for the Fall riding season though

Been on mine for 3 years and the temps you all are throwing out there are right on. 180 while moving and at a light it starts coming up to 215. My fan is kicking on at 212. Most of the time the fan will drop the temp but in the heat and humidity of oklahoma it has still ran up to 225 while stuck in construction. No damage and still runs strong.

I went ahead and picked up some wetter water. Ill be changing it out this weekend and give it a try. If it knocks it down a couple degrees ill be worth it.

After draining the old coolant, will i have to flush the system out with water?

Well I drained the old coolant and put in the wetter water. It took the whole bottle to fill it up. Took it out this evening and I noticed about a 5 to 8 degree drop in the heat. Well worth the $20.00.
