Default not sure if i have a problem?

Im new to the bike scen and dont know a whole lot about the mechanics of bike but i do know that when i start my bike i let the bike warm up for a few min and let the rpm's come down to 1000. The question is today for some reason the rpms never came down the bike was idling around 1800. just wanted to know if this is common or if it is a problem.

1000 rpms is a kinda low idle and 1800 is very high. 1100 to 1300 is about right. If you're idling at 1800 you might wanna lift the tank and check for debris holding the throttle open a bit. Could be that your idle adjust **** got spun up -- don't know why that would happen though unless someone was being 'cute'.
