I have a 97 cbr 600 that jumps from 2nd to first after 4000 rpm . I have started skipping 2nd gear and shift lever gets hung up at the top at times .. anybody know what it could be?

your problem is off topic here, but sounds like your shift forks and/or gears are shot. You would have to split the case and check your trans and shift forks etc.
