Default My Project 929

I picked on an 01 CBR 929 last month for $1500. Was told all it needed was a new cam chain tensioner. Upon firing it up I discovered its more than likely a bent valve.

How i picked it up

I also found out afterwards that previous owner had lost all the hardware for the body, and the banjo bolt for the fuel tank. I got replacement bolts for the body and test fitted it finding that most of the tabs have been broken

After learning of a possible bent valve i started tearing the bike down.

Got the Frame off the motor and pulled the head.

To Be Continued......

Good luck with the build trider! It's too bad you couldn't find a 54 engine for your bike

that looks like alot of work is needed but could be a nice bike if done right. I just bought a 900rr in about the same condition, I flushed all my brake fluid and other fluids, checked all bolts and bearings/seals, replaced chain, brake pads. depending on how long the bike sat around, alot of stuff will get stiff and dirty. pull off both rims check bearings etc. seems you have the motor to fix first tho, gl with that.

Why do some people suck at owning a bike?

who sucks at owning a bike? I got one with a bad head for a cheap price and plan on restoring it to its former glory.
