I'm the proud owner of a 91 1000f. I'm looking into rebuilding the bikes motor. have no idea where to start looking for parts. im not wanting to build it back to stock but push some more horses out of it. any suggestions on where to look for the parts i need.

 

What is wrong with the motor?

 

I had this dilema a while back - re-build engine for more power - or change bikes to one that had the power i wanted.

After looking at costs for re-build + insurance hike for modifications it was more cost effective to sell the 1991 CBR1000F and buy a 1997 Blackbird.

 

the blackbird might have more top end speed but up the gears not much in it my mate has one he can't get away when we go out not very often you get to max her out anyway

 

Was looking for a bit more power too recently so bought a blackbird last week. As Nutter said it wasn't the quantum leap in power i thought it would be. Still very happy with the bird, smooth, quiet and fast and handles a little better too. Not selling the 1kf though. Will get some pics up when ive cleaned it, was pissing down when i collected it.
