RE: loweing without losing handling???
Mikey,
There is really no reason to keep arguing your case. Plain and simple, lowering/raising your bike will affect handling. THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE.
Whether or not it suits you and your riding style is subjective and bears no facts pertaining to the original, "question."
Playful, from what I can see and guess, is frustrated that you simply continue to argue your point even though you must realize that by saying it doesn't affect the geometry of the bike, you are wrong!
If you look at any picture of a MotoGP bike, you'll clearly see they are not lowriders. As far as I'm concerned, in a sport where handling and power combines, MotoGP is the standard in which all are judged.
If you want to lower your bike, knock yourself out. Just don't expect it to be the same ride when you're done.
THATS ALL ANYONE WAS EVER SAYING.

RE: loweing without losing handling???
This is an old thread but I just lowered my baby (954) to pass on to my wife (she's 5'2). It doesn't bottom out but man the handling sucks compared to stock. I took it out for a spin today and I feel like it's been neutered. I guess it's her bike now but I will never lower a bike that I ride. The new toy is an 08 Ducati 1098.

well yeah, if she's 5"2 then you had to almost set it down so the fairings hit the asphalt.
why is it that lowered cars handle better then stock height cars?
i wanna see a picture because if it was'nt lowered properly then it will either turn in faster because the front is now much lower than the rear or turn in slower due to the front being higher than the rear like with a chopper.
