loweing without losing handling???

RE: loweing without losing handling???
Sure it is... the parts I would strip off of it are more expensive than the ones I got.
Smartass. If I could buy that bike for $2300 I'd buy it up too. It would also be in my garage on stands getting stripped and pictures would be on here detailing my progress of ridding the bike of it's unfortunate cancer.
Alas, some fruit is probably looking to get $15K+ for that parts bike. AND THERE AREN"T EVEN ANY FRAME SLIDERS! Could you imagine? Like it or, it's a lot of work - and to knot even put frame sliders on it... tsk tsk.
That bike is also in better condition as it was obviously never ran hard... HAHAHA pwn't teh n00|3!
In anycase I'm not saying I wouldn't take it - I'd just strip the **** outta that hunk and part dat bitch out.

CLEAN 929RR, 37 Original miles, never abused parts bike, must see! I don't even know if it runs, but make me an offer! For some reason that sidestand is welded into place but I'm sure we can cut that...

RE: loweing without losing handling???
Im sure this bike handles just as well as a shorter wheel base bike and i doubt that tire effects its cornering at all!

I want to lower my bike just a little bit, like maybe an inch max but i dont want to lose any handling. Any ideas? I was thinking of just adjusting the shock down some, but like i said i dont want to lose any handling.

and modify the fork internals-
find a good suspension builder-have them reduce the dampening cartridge 1/2 inch(you the do the rest
by adjusting the forks within the triples)-then for the rear, use a link similar to this:
http://www.mpsracing.com/products/Spencer/Links.asp
you wont lose any handling, you will gain handling!!!do it right!!!!
also-if you are going to lower the bike, you might give some thoughts to using adjustable
rear sets

RE: loweing without losing handling???
im not a fan of that particular style for the simple fact that you have to spin it around to get it to the desired length then use the locking nuts(locking nuts) to hold it to that desired position.
vs
just removing the bolt and chosing one of the traditional heights already built in to the PPM one
plus when i look at it, i keep seeing a bolt snapping in my mind
i think the PPM is cheaper but dont get me lying.

And as far as that bike not changing the handling... naww, it's really not too much. You get used to it in like a week or two then you'll be rippin' up the parkways...
