Which chain is on a 929??
Hi All , ... I just picked up a 2001 erion 929 and it needs a chain. The guy gave me a new chain but its a 520. Can anyone tell me what came with a STOCK 929?? Is it a 530 or 520 or other ?????

According to the service manual. The original chain came in two types/brands.
D.I.D. 50VA8 C1
RK GB50HF0C5
Both of which are 530 series/pitch chains. The others input are correct too! If you need a chain, be sure to inspect your sprokets. I personally don't/haven't tried both the 520 v. 530 setup just yet. I do know that if you go with the 520 you reduce like 20 pounds of rotational mass. Some say it's not good to switch up with the 520 setup with aluminum sprockets, especially if your looking for any longevity or them lasting without having to change it up after 4k or less miles. That's just my two cents. Good luck with whatever you want or decide to go with.

I took off the front sprocket cover of my Erion yesterday and the front sprocket said 525 on it. Since this bike is new to me, I am not sure if this is a factory set up or aftermarket?
I know i saw 525 on that fron sprocket though.
