QuinC - here's a shot of that instrument I mentioned, installed. Looks like it belongs there.

Got a clock, stopwatch, temp indication as well as the main reason I got it, the voltmeter. It was so cheap, though, I'm not getting my hopes up too high - hard to believe it could be very durable for that price - we'll see.

Easy to hook up, with the help of the bike's wiring print - tied it right in to the ignition harness just below the installation. The instrument needs a ground, direct battery power, and battery power with ignition only - three wires.

Dammit honda, why did you have to use the short battery in our bikes.
