Question What's your top speed?

After feeling comfortable enough with my bike and making sure all was runing "tip top". I took my bike out for a test on an open highway to see if I could brake my record of 145 mph. I got it up to 155, and then felt a need to slow down! I know I could of gone faster but that was fast enough for now. My bike wanted to keep going!
What is your top speed so far???

Find a race track(road course) near you and contact them to find out about track days. It is cheaper to pay $200 for the day than to pay hundreds in fines and lose your bike(impound). Top speed so far at portland international raceway at the end of the straight is 158mph.

Actually, most states have it so that Police aren't supposed to persue motorcycles who are in excess of 95MPH. So, if he flew by a cop going 155MPH .. the cop would just sit there more than likely.

Me personally .. 80MPH on the highway. I cherish my life too much.

Is that supposed to be good advice or something worthy of a counter point ?

WTF dude.

Good advice? When I say I don't go over 80, you think I am giving advice to do double that on a public road? You should try to comprehend what I was saying.

He said to take it to the track so he doesn't face massive fines, getting his bike impounded, and, caught at that speed .. arrested and loss of a license. BUT, the point is .. if he is going 140+MPH down the highway/thruway..whatever.. the only thing he may face is a terrible death because police (depending on state) aren't supposed to pursue a speeding bike.

That's all there is to it. Police aren't supposed to pursue speeding bikes. Again, police aren't supposed to pursue speeding bikes. Where in those 7 words is there advice to speed?

key word 'suppose to' but trust me they're not just gonna sit there n twiddle their thumbs and do nothing at all

And yes I quite agree running 100+mph on public roads is a idiotic thing to do!!

I know around here they'll chase you down and cuff your carcass. They really don't care.

And yeah, I'm also wondering if that whole "police won't chase you" thing is supposed to be good advice because it certainly isn't. If anyone wants to go that fast.... find a track like powershotent suggested.

There are many reasons why we don't condone talking about illegal activity on this forum, but my biggest reason is that it's just silly.
Yeah, sportbikes go fast. We all know that. What difference does it make if one guy says 155 and one says 165?? It just doesn't matter.
All that can possibly happen in a thread like this is that some idiot says "I went 200mph!" and then a ridiculous fight ensues about the impossibility of said speed on a certain bike......blah blah blah.

Nope, not gonna do it for the 837th time.

The answer is 145-165mph since the documented top speed of the 900RR is 158mph.

And yes I quite agree running 100+mph on public roads is a idiotic thing to do!!
+1.

This subject has been beaten to death here. Not again, please. Trout and all who advocate running at the speed limit will certainly live longer and have more liberty, and a lot more funds to spend on other things than those who decide to "open it up" on public roads.

ATGATT...........too
