Shift Forks/ Gearing Problem
Ok, I have a 99-00 Model Honda CBR 900 RR, and When I am in 1st gear, and if I hit high RPM's or gain power in 1st, and go to shift into 2nd gear, it catches neutral HARD and won't go into second cleanly. Also sometimes when I am in 2nd gear, Hitting High RPM's it will slip out of 2nd Gear. A friend of mine said that my Shift forks were more than likely bent, and I needed to get them replaced, maybe something else, but that is more than likely the problem. I know I would have to split the case to fix this, and basically take apart the entire motor.
Could anyone do this for me who lives on East Coast, or show me a manual to do this, step by step...... Or could someone give me an estimate on how much this would cost to be fixed...... Someone just point me in the right direction...
Thanks

I had the same problem with my 93 900RR, it went into 2nd ruff and about 4k RPM"s it would slip in to 3rd or nuetral. I didnt have to split the case what i did was buy a whole used trans off ebay for Cheap! and replaced the shift drum and 3 shift forks, worked great ever since. you dont have to split the case but you"ll have to remove the clutch cover, took a few hours but hella worth it.
