Default Iridium plugs....

I just put a set of NGK iridium plugs in and i have to say i felt a noticable difference on throttle snap, old plugs still looked good but while it was apart i said why not, the plugs only $3 more, anyone else notice a difference when they put these in?

Well the bike calls for iridium plugs so I have never used anything else to find out if it is different.

Hey!! I got new plugs todays with an aftermarket air filter, the bike sounds much nicer now but it smells like it's burning oil or something, but no smoke whatsoever... Has anybody came across this issue before? One more thing, the bike seems to stall when i gas it all the way... the mechanic said that i need new carbs, running to rich, and that's the reason why, but my bike was working perfectly fine before they worked on it!!! I'm taking it back tomorrow so they can check it!

This could be just a minor problem with the settings and I don't think you need to change the carbs like what the mechanic claimed..

Well if you didfeel a seat-of-the-pants HP gain than it was only because your old plugs were filthy, not because they were non-iridium. You have to use em with these bikes.

Hey there, concerning the smell of burning, if you had to oil your aftermarket filter, you might have over oiled it and it is sucking some of the oil through your carbs into the engine. Dont listen to the mechanic, he is just trying score a quick buck. If the oil was the problem, you might have greased up some jets. Just have them cleaned, and have your pilot jets setup correctly. Your pilots regulate your air fuel mixture.

PS: Dont put any carb cleaner in the gas to clean your carbs, cuz anything that might have been stuck in the tank can be loosened by the cleaner and get sucked into the carbs and create havoc!! Talking from experience here dude, best to strip them for cleaning.
