Default Why are these lights here?

These are turn signal lights in the back section of my bike. They are mounted there. not just laid there. Does anyone else have these? any ideas why they are there? yes they glow out of the opening but poorly and doesnt really add any special effect.

I have never seen those there. I think they are a custom add, but poorly thought through...

I've had several where previous owners did that. It works somewhat with the earlier tails as the vents are on the low side of the tail but on the '98-'99 not enough light would come out of the vent to be worthwile. I've also seen people do that rather than using a resistor to slow down signals. When smaller signals are used, usually leds, they don't draw enough power for the flasher relay to work right and the signals flash way too fast. Adding another set of signals and hiding them is a way to draw enough power to slow the flasher......A resistor is the right way though.

If you dont like them, rip them out..

With that great big taillight I guess there must be a way to get the flashers built in there with little drama..

So do you know where i could get some of those resistors? Cause I have that problem with my lights. I've looked before but i wasn't really sure what I was looking for.

So do I just go in and ask for a turn signal resistor? Or is it a different name? Do they have different sizes? If so what size should I get. Only my rear turns are LED.
Thanks

I think the fast flash makes the turn signals more noticeable anyways. Why bother with the resistor. I have two sets of turn signals in mine and they still flash fast. but it gets noticed see:

My turns are really dim. They are bright until you turn them on then when they flash they are dim. Mainly the fronts that are non OEM stock basically. Are the turns supposed to be on all the time? Cause mine are then they flash when I use it. The rears didn't stay on until I put the fronts on. I have wired them every possible way and they still stay on so I figured they were supposed to stay on. But its like its backwards though cause as soon as I hit the turn it dims in fromt then starts to blink.
