Got any ideas?
Hey there
Yesterday I had problems starting my bike in the morning. I guessed my battery was stuffed, so I had to do a rolling kick start to bring her to life. She didnt need a fast push and she came alive on the first try. That night I hooked up the battery charger to her. The next morning when I left for work the charger showed green and everything should have been fine. Nope, she struggled again. It kinda sounds like the battery wasnt fully charged and dies out after a couple of turns. It sounds like it is turning enough to start her but if I keep the start button in, there are only about 10 chugs before the battery dies and there is not enough power to start her.
I did another slow rolling kick start off the driveway and she fired right up. After riding to work, I stood in my parking space and tried to start her and she started strong, so I am sure there is nothing wrong with my stator or rectifier or starter. It seems like she only has trouble starting when she cools down.
Does anyone have ideas on what the prob might be? The battery is about 9 months old now (I bought her with the new battery, or so says her seller). I think the problem might be with the battery but i would like some varification. How many turns can you do on your bikes before your battery starts losing its bite?
Thanks

My battery will site there and crank for a while if I have the switch to off so the bike wont start. If you are sure everything else is fine the I would replace the battery cause they is prolly your culprit. But if you want a flow chart to check your charging system to be sure give me your email and I will send it to you.
Thanks 89ls1, I have that fowchart too. I think it may be the battery. I just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar problem.
Thanks for the info, looks like its battery hunting time. A sealed battery one no doubt.
