Giving her a make over!
So I am new to the forums here. I purchased a 99 CBR900RR this past summer. Put 5000 miles on her in little over 2 months. Now that she is in the basement for the winter, I am going to tear her apart and clean her up. Paint, polish, general maintenance, etc. I got it for a good price from a good friend. Hopefully I wont pour too much more into it.
As far as aftermarket upgrades, I do not have much of a need for them. When I bought the bike I got a file of receipts with it, and have found a few items in there. It has "racing" heads, with an $850 "port and polish" receipt. Cams are not stock we suspect, its re-jetted, full exhaust, aftermarket wheels, a clutch upgrade, integrated lights, braided brake lines and a bunch of other stuff, some of which I cannot make out on the receipts.
It just needs some TLC basically. It was laid down, on both sides. I am taking photos of everything that is damaged, or grimy, as it comes apart. I started a few days ago, so Ill have to post up a bunch of progress photos and catch everyone up to speed.
Please let me hear your advice if it is constructive!

The piece there with a paper towel sandwiched in there is broken. I had to do that to stop ridiculous rattling. It is broken clean through, and someone tried to epoxy fix it. This MUST be fixed.
Left side of the bike is pretty clean.

New brakes to come. Thinking of powder coating the calipers
Headlight is dirty, but also oxidized, like most things on the bike.
Going to be rough cleaning in there without disassemble
Damage on left side
The tail pieces are not fit perfectly right anymore due to the lay downs.
