Default Give me your feelings on this deal

Found a 98 900RR for sale in the want add. Clean title but recently down, needs new forks and brakes, rash on the plastics and there is an "unidentified enginer noise." Guy wants $250 bucks, I'm thinking I cant turn it down even if the engine is wrecked. Ifthe engine is fixable for the price of new forks i can have a perfectly good street fighter to play around with. If its a mess i can always part it out and probably make a quick buck. Either way let me know what you guys and galls think.

i would take it but i would listen to the engine noise and see if its from the top or the bottom. whats the mileage? if around 20k it could just be that the valves need to be adjusted.the forks would be easy to get.and yea you can ALWAYS part out a 900. there arent that many anymore.
if you decide to part it out let me know.

Gave the guy a call yesterday, apparently the want ad messed up and put his title and number on a different bike. No idea what the number is for the actualy bike that was advertised, or even what kind of bike it actually is. I'll have to look into it when i get home
