Post Blown 900rr Motor - Any Options?

Ok, I just blew my 93 900rr motor yesterday, to be more specific I spun a berring and possibly scorned the walls due to lack of oil (1 quart down).

Now my question is, what options do I have?

1. Do I rebuild?
2. Do I need to find another motor for sale?
3. Is there another swap I can do without major modifacation? (929, 954, 1000?)

Thanks for all your help!

It depends on your time frame because a rebuild will take a few weeks and be the most expensive option. I wouldn't attempt any kind of swap without considerable fabrication skill and the tools to turn down spacers and perform welding. Used motors are always a gamble, but they can be had on Ebay for reasonable prices. Just gotta look at what you can afford and see whats out there. A rebuild by the way will cover all the damage that you did to the motor unless you ran it a while with the bearing spun, then youe bearing caps and support might be too damaged. If you piece out that motor I bet you could cover half the cost of a used one....thats your best bet.

929 Engine will NOT fit in the 900rr frame without considerable fabrication. You can bolt ANY 900rr engine in the frame with little to no changes.

Ive seen a few on ebay in the 3-500 range, just keep an eye open.
